DAX30 becomes DAX40 - update on September 20, 2021.

German DAX30 index will be enlarged with new companies and from 20 September 2021 will become DAX40. Why is this going to happen? About that we already wrote in September last year HERE - in short: the update was prompted by the scandal with the German payment operator Wirecard, which found its way to the top 30 companies of the German index due to creative accounting. This time, however, let's focus on the technical aspects of the changes, not their causes.

The DAX40 will replace the DAX30

The new companies that will join the leading European index on September 20 are:

• Airbus se
• Zalando SE
• Siemens Healthineers AG
• Symrise AG
• HelloFresh SE
• Sartorius AG Vz
• Porsche Automobil Holding
• Brenntag SE
• Puma se
• Qiagen NV

New companies will be added to the index through an index rebalancing process that has taken place many times in the past and is designed not to technically affect prices or alter the current level of the index. If you trade DAX30 u Forex brokers, there will be some changes in your instruments and charts, which are reported, among others, by Admiral Markets.

All indicators or expert advisors (EAs) that you use when trading will need to be transferred to the new instrument. Otherwise, they will show an error due to the lack of new quotations and therefore will not work.

Remember that:

If you use indicators and expert advisors (and have open positions) and they are configured in a "specific" way, save your setup templates and use them on the DAX 40 chart. Trade a new instrument [DAX40] will only be available from September 20.

If you want to transfer your indicators to MT4 and MT5, Expert Advisors (EAs) or to use the DAX30 Technical Analysis Objects on the DAX40, please follow the steps below:

• Right click on the [DAX30] chart,
• Select Templates-> Save the Template, then give the created template a name,
• Right click on the [DAX40] chart:
• Choose Templates -> Upload Template -> select a previously saved template.

In the event that you do not open a position and want to start trading on the DAX40, just in the window Market add a new symbol from the list of available instruments.

If you have open positions on [DAX30] at the close of the weekly session on September 17, you have to bear in mind that on the weekend before the change, i.e. September 18-19, brokers will update all open positions and pending orders (if any) to the DAX40 index . In case of Admirals (ex Admiral Markets) clients do not have to take any actions on their positions and orders, but it is worth confronting this information in the case of other brokers, where the policy of conduct may be different and result in e.g. closing open positions on DAX30, without opening new ones on DAX40 .
