Cryptocurrencies with Queen Elizabeth II - new, speculative crypto and NFT projects are being developed

created Michał Sielski11 Września 2022

It is said that death is often a fresh start. For the cryptocurrency community, for sure. Already on the first day after the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, which echoed around the world, the first kryptowaluty i NFT. Speculative tokens began to rise very quickly.

Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022. She was 96 years old and for the last 70 years and 214 days she wore the British crown. Despite the lack of real power in the country, she was a symbol of Great Britain and one of the most recognized people in the world. Reports from the life of the royal family were followed with bated breath not only in London, but also in cities and villages of other countries. Heirs to the throne, grandchildren, and misalliance in the royal family were rumored in shops and offices from Europe to Africa.

Queen Elizabeth II is dead? We create a new cryptocurrency

No wonder it only took a few hours from the official announcement of her death for cryptocurrencies inspired by her to begin to emerge. And not one or two. The tokens began to grow like mushrooms after the rain.

So there are already NFT tokens and collections that focus on the feeling play: Rip Queen Elizabeth, Elizabeth II, God Save The Queen; but also those that by the very name indicate that they are to be primarily a speculative shell: queen elizabeth inu, Queen Inu II, Queen Doge or Queen Grow. However, we do not undertake to explain what exactly was meant by the creator of the project launched at the same time "London Bridge Is Down"...

NFT Queen Elizabeth Inu up 11%

Some grabbed it right away. Token God Save the Queen increased by 1500% in the first 24 hours. The price of the NFT Queen Elizabeth Inu collection increased even more. One day was enough for her the price soared by 11%.

There were also some mishaps. Was established, among others NFT Queen Elizabeth 69 Years collection, which is an obvious mistake, because Queen Elizabeth II wore the crown for the full 70, or even almost 71 years.

There is no sanctity in the cryptocurrency market?

However, not everyone liked the reaction of the blockchain technology market to a sad or even dramatic event for many Britons. Criticism comes even from the NFT and cryptocurrency environment itself.

ThreadGuy, a well-known NFT technology influencer, tweeted that "Anyone who tries to earn on the death of Queen Elizabeth II deserves hell".

There are also opinions that there is nothing wrong with creating "event" NFTs and cryptocurrencies, but only if they focus on positive messages.

Great changes in Britain after the Queen's death

Elizabeth II has gained many sympathizers over the years. For decades she has advocated the unity of British nations. She avoided negative statements and judgments even when the most reserved commentators and politicians did not hold back from them. She avoided politics as much as she could, which brought her even more fans. For decades, it has been undoubtedly viewed positively.

The death of Queen Elizabeth II is a tear not only in the hearts of the British and her supporters around the world. In the near future, Great Britain will not only have to crown a new king, who will be Charles, son of Elizabeth II (his son Wiliam will take over the crown after him). The image of the queen is on all coins and banknotes. Now Charles III will be on it. British central bank estimates that it will take up to several years to withdraw coins and banknotes and replace them with new ones.

It should be faster to change the national anthem, which starts with the words:

"God save our gracious queen! Long live our distinguished queen! God Save the Queen!"
