Beware of the Admiral Markets broker clone!
The FCA issued a warning yesterday against a clone of a popular broker Admiral Markets. Fraudsters pretending to be representatives of a British company using their brand, which is to mislead investors. A clone named Admiral Markets Ltd does not have any brokerage license, unlike Admiral Markets (UK) Ltd., a company that has been present on the Polish market for many years.
The devil is in the details
The scammers use deceptively similar data to an authorized company. In the e-mail address and the website you can see the word "ltd" in the domain.
Data used by the clone of the licensed broker:
- Telephone: +44 20 3519 3801, +44 20 3026 6295
- E-mail: contact@admiralmarketsltd.com
- Website: admiralmarketsltd.com (currently disabled)
Data Admiral Markets UK Ltd (licensed entity)
- FCA license No. 595450
- Phone: +0207 726 4003 XNUMX
- E-mail: compliance.uk@admiralmarkets.com
- Websites: admiralmarkets.com, admiralmarketsglobal.com
Clone attack is not new
FCA regularly informs about this type of fraud attempts, but they rarely concern brokers who are highly recognizable among Polish investors. This is the second case of fraud under the guise of the popular AM brand - an earlier clone used the name Admiral Markets Global Solutions. We recommend that you verify your contact details (in particular e-mail addresses) before sending any documents, let alone ordering the payment of funds. With this type of fraud, we cannot count on deposit guarantees provided by supervisory institutions and the only way to recover them will be in court.
