Will Big-Techs drive growth? What will the week bring?

created Forex ClubApril 29 2024

Although from the Polish perspective it might seem that we have a quiet week ahead of us, nothing could be further from the truth. There will be a lot going on on global markets, and investors' eyes will be focused primarily on the United States. This is where we will learn the next Big-Tech results for the first quarter of 2024 and the FOMC's decision on interest rates.

Big-Tech earnings season

Last December, Jerome Powell suggested upcoming reductions interest rates in the world's largest economy. However, this dovish communication did not go hand in hand with actions, and there are many indications that instead of the expected reductions, we may receive slightly more hawkish messages. In recent weeks, both the Fed chairman and FOMC members have suggested that there are no grounds to believe that inflation is clearly heading towards the inflation target. This is also not helped by the market situation, including: rising oil prices raise concerns about a potential second wave of inflation.

In the coming days, we will also see the continuation of the Big Tech earnings season in the US. Last week, data released from... caused a lot of confusion on the market Tesla, Meta Platforms, Microsoft or Alphabet. However, currently, investors' eyes will be focused on Amazon and Apple, which will soon present their data for the first quarter of 2024. Both companies belong to the "Magnificent 7" and their results may indicate the direction for the entire American market.

We invite you to meet the economist XTB Michał Stajniak, in which he will focus on the key topics of this week.

In today's webinar:
