CapitalWaysTrade - Watch out for the Tickmill broker clone!
Scam on the so-called clone is an increasingly common method that fraudsters use. This time, the choice fell on an international broker Tickmilland scammers use the name CapitalWaysTrade. Although this entity is not included in any official list of warnings, at least for now, it can be safely stated that we are dealing with a fraud. Be careful!
CapitalWaysTrade is impersonating Tickmill
The "clone" method involves the use of an image in the form of, for example, copying a logo, name, registered office address, license number or website. The goal is to impersonate a legally operating entity and gain the trust of potential customers, and consequently to extort funds from them. In this case, the victims are not only ignorant investors, but also companies whose image is used, and as a consequence they can be accused of fraud. Unfortunately, in many cases regulators act too slowly and only react after a series of reports from victims. Therefore, more and more often the brokers themselves inform about emerging scams that use their image. Recently, the broker Dukascopy informed about such a case on the pages of his website - we wrote about it here. Another example is the broker Trader 212, whose image was used just a few weeks ago - this time, however, the British regulator FCA reacted swiftly and the scammers quickly hit the list of public warnings.
This time, the choice of scammers fell on the Tickmill broker, whose website was practically gone photocopied. In the picture below you can see how accurate this copy is.
CapitalWaysTrade operates under https://capitalwaystrade.com - it is not yet on any regulator's warning list, but it is probably just a matter of time.
