HOW TO INVEST IN ALLEGRO [GUIDE]
Debut and great growth for Allegro
Allegro shares debuted on the Stock Exchange on Monday, October 12.10.2020, 4. On the day of the debut, the turnover was huge and reached PLN 20 billion. Suffice it to mention that all companies of the WIG800 index, which brings together the largest companies listed on the WSE in Poland, on the same day achieved a total turnover of PLN 14.10.2020 million. Allegro was undoubtedly a hit that day, but little changed in the days that followed. On Wednesday, October 1, XNUMX, the turnover reached over PLN XNUMX billion.
Allegro can also boast a large capitalization. On the debut day, it was PLN 44 billion, because the shares cost PLN 43. But already at the end of Monday's session, Allegro shares were paid for PLN 70, on Tuesday, October 13.10.2020, 80 it was already PLN 90, and the next day the valuation reached even PLN 21.10.2020. At the beginning of trading on October 85, 100, the company is valued at PLN 18. At the peak of trading, the company's capitalization reached almost PLN 27 billion! For comparison: PKN Orlen is currently worth approx. PLN 38 billion, PKO BP PLN XNUMX billion, and CD Projekt approx. PLN XNUMX billion.
For now, Allegro is highly valued. It benefits from huge capitalization, but also a brand known practically all over Poland. And this is valuable primarily for individual investors. It should also be taken into account that due to the coronavirus pandemic, many stock market debuts have been put on hold and postponed. Allegro was the icing in this case, but not on the cake - because it was missing.
However, the real test for investors in Allegro shares will come very quickly. The financial report for the third quarter of this year will be presented in November. In the past months, the company has achieved remarkable results by taking advantage of trade restrictions that did not apply to online sales. E-commerce recorded record turnover, but the third quarter may be the proverbial tongue of the scale. It will show whether Poles have changed their shopping habits for good and even when they had the opportunity to use stationary stores, they more often chose mail order. If not, the valuation of the largest Polish company may face a correction.
