The Cypriot regulator issued warnings to companies that propose brokering in the Forex / CFD and cryptocurrency markets. They do this, although they do not have a license for the services they provide.

New entities on the 2 list

CySEC (Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission) has issued warnings to brokers providing services on the following websites: gocapitalfx.com and worldbinaryoption.com. There is a high probability that these are companies that want to earn in a fraudulent manner, by scamming both data and money from their potential customers.

CySEC warns that the owner of the gocapitalfx.com website is a company that does not have a license to invest. Nevertheless, you can read on it that it offers brokerage services on the forex market, CFDs on precious metals, stock indices, stocks and contracts through the MetaTrader4 platform. The owner is a company from Dominica - Lancelot Equity Ltd ..

The Cypriot regulator also appeals to investors to contact the regulator if they have any doubts about companies or brokers on the Forex market. The regulator will always provide detailed information about your licenses. Thanks to this, you can reduce the risk of losses, especially if the company goes bankrupt. In this case, there may be problems with recovering even a part of the money from the compensation fund.

The official CySEC message

Another suspicious website is worldbinaryoption.com. She also belongs to a company that according to CySEC does not have a license to operate in Cyprus. We can read on the site that it has been operating since 2010 year. He allegedly has several licenses: CFTC in the US, IFSC in Belize, FCA in the UK and CySEC. The problem is that CySEC does not know anything about this and denies information about the license issued. Therefore, the company can not provide brokerage services on Forex and CFD in Cyprus.

Cypriots tighten control

Known for greater than in the countries of Western Europe loosening regulation, Cypriots intend to tighten their controls in the coming years. The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) is just beginning a consultation on changing laws that will prevent money laundering in the country. First of all, through the cryptocurrency market, which in Cyprus is very developed, mainly due to the quite liberal law. CySEC wants to directly transfer the European rules on cryptocurrencies to national law.
