The new TMS Trader platform
0

TMS Trader is another platform to be refreshed this spring. Could this be the result of an "arms" race among Forex brokers? Platforms have undergone a small revolution recently CMC Markets, JForex Dukascopy and XTB xStation (a big revolution took place here 🙂).

About the platform

TMS Trader is currently available in two versions - the old and new (beta). Each of them is located at a different website address, so it is worth paying attention to where you log in. It is a web browser and environment based platform Adobe Flash. The application passed the exam in the first version (for that period). It also looked confusingly similar to the WEB version of cTrader (colors, interface, available functions). Interesting facts - even the sound of the connection is the same as on the trader. Case? 🙂

Due to the rather limited number of functions and the so-called "Goodies", there have never been problems with the speed of TMS Trader. Similarly with reliability - I personally did not notice any problems with freezing or frequent disconnection. Of course, more advanced traders did not actually visit this platform at all - precisely because of a number of limitations in functionality. This was probably the reason why TMS decided to update the WEB platform, seeing at the same time how dynamically the competition is developing similar projects and how much interest they enjoy on the part of traders.

What's New

A fresh look. At first glance, you can see a significant improvement in the layout. More vivid colors, prettier fonts, buttons and outlines. Definitely a plus.

The new version of TMS Trader

Active right mouse button. The previous version had completely inactive (in relation to the platform function) PPM. Now it is useful, but only on charts. By clicking the mouse you can quickly add a pending order, set a new order, add a new indicator or change the interval. Change to a big plus.

Active charts. The previous version allowed to run only one graph at a time, which covered the entire main window. Let us not spare our words of criticism - a solution from the Middle Ages. But that's history - currently their number is (theoretically) unlimited, and we can locate them in any way (but only within the window). It is worth thinking about adding the option to detach the chart from the platform, which is also becoming a standard.

One Click Trading. Buttons for placing orders (available under the <=> icon) have been added in the upper left chart. You can set SL, TP right away, choose a volume - everything is OK but ... It is not known why the broker allows you to select a negative volume, and the "X" responsible for resetting the value does not work :-). It is worth correcting it quickly. In the case of SL and TP it is correct.

Smaller fonts. It looks more elegant but tiresome. At least on a high resolution monitor. It would be useful to change the size of the fonts, even with a large / small division.

TMS Trader - Summary

Changes for the better are visible to the naked eye, although there are not many of them. First of all, because the previous version of the platform was far behind and the bar was not set high. First of all, the appearance - a dramatic improvement that makes working on the platform nicer. As for the interface and configuration, not much has changed. The layout is identical and the configuration options are the same as before. A few things when using charts and tools have been simplified, but the biggest advantage is adding options that allow you to trade from the chart (although some elements still need to be refined).

In other words, the update was needed but definitely did not bring changes that could bring TMS Trader closer to the leading and rapidly growing products of competitors.
