Forex - Trader of the month competition - August 2021

Thousands of percent of the rate of return? It is not necessary to be called the Trader of the Month. A trader named Ahmed was selected by the Tickmill jury as the best investor in August 2021. Strategy, consistency and above-average effectiveness of as much as 80%, which translated into earnings of over 37 dollars within 22 trading days - find out the story of the Trader of the Month in the August edition of the competition Tickmill.

Congratulations to the winners!

Check it out: The trader of the month earned over 47 in July. USD

80% profitable trades

At first glance, the curve with the equity chart below is not impressive. But the devil is in the details. In August, Ahmed earned "only" 34%. Comparing it to previous editions of the competition, it's actually not much. He concluded 251 transactions, 80% of which ended in profit. He started the month with a deposit of 110 thousand. USD, and he finished it with ... 59 thousand. USD. So what is this all about? Why was he selected by the jury? Well, the style in which he did it was impressive. Ahmed commissioned regular payments of earned profits, which were a kind of safety buffer. No orders are used stop loss and a really big lot (even 50.0 lots for a single transaction!) is no joke. There were few such big trades and mostly the 0.5 - 5.0 lot dominated, but still quite a lot, considering that he was trading practically non-stop.

Most transactions were made on cable (GBP / USD), but the eurodollar, gold or USD / CAD were also occasional. A lot of transactions were closed in a very similar time (a few, and sometimes a dozen or so positions within 1-15 seconds), which suggests that Ahmed used a machine in his trading or a tool supporting him in managing the positions (combine, overlay, script, etc. .). Profit on the account from almost the very beginning increased gradually, without major stumbles and a series of painful losses. This clearly indicates that he consistently applied the strategy he developed, which is largely a mystery to us.

Interview with a trader

How long have you been involved in trade?

I have been trading for 10 years.

How did your adventure with Forex trading begin?

I started trading encouraged by Facebook advertising and my start was like any other trader with little experience. Then I started reading, watching educational videos, and trying out demo accounts. Then I started depositing small amounts, but always incurred losses until I was able to create my own trading methods and, being patient, got to the position I am in today.

What is your trading style?

I don't have one style of trading. I follow more than one method such as Support and Resistance, Price Action and more. My style in the market can be summed up as appropriate capital management while being flexible in dealing with the market.

Do you have any risk management policies?

Sometimes I practice risk management, for example by dividing capital into multiple accounts and assigning risk to them, and sometimes not.

What good habits should investors be fooled about?

One of my good habits is to be patient with winning, as well as being patient with losing. Determining specific entry and exit points is good, but honestly, sometimes you have to take a chance.

Describe your best / most-remembered transaction (How much did you earn? What strategy did you use? On which pair?)

There are no limits to my strategy but based on my experience, I select my trades with vision and 30% based on some metrics such as Bollinger Bands and Moving Average and only deal with pairs EUR / USD i GBP / USD.

What advice would you give to novice investors?

Regarding my advice to new traders, I would say try to stay away from risk, start with a small amount, aim to multiply this amount many times by using accumulated capital management, always protect your trades with stop loss.

Considering the current market situation, what do you think data / investors should pay attention to?

News and events generally influence the market. Watch out for market reaction as it largely depends on the surprise element.

What is the most important thing you expect from a Broker?

Some of the reasons I chose Tickmill as a broker are excellent support. It also offers my favorite platform, fast withdrawals, an easy-to-use website and much more.

Forex "Trader of the month" competition

The winner of the competition is chosen by Tickmill Jury. The win is not only determined by the rate of return - it is the total that matters. Factors such as earned profit, position management, risk and trading skills are taken into account. There is also one more necessary condition - interviewing the broker and consent to make the account history public. Only then does the prize of $ 1 go to the trader's investment account.

The principles introduced are aimed not only at showing that you can make money on the Forex market, but also consciously educate and encourage sharing experience with other traders.
