created Michał SielskiAugust 21 2020

Jordan Belfort (known as the Wolf of Wall Street) convicted of financial fraud, i.e. selling non-existent stocks, tricking investors and exposing them to a loss of $ 200 million, returns to Wall Street. The American, who spent 22 months in prison, will ... train new investors. What will he teach them? It remains to be hoped to avoid individuals like him.

Jordan Belfort is undoubtedly an interesting character. He became famous in the 90s, when he employed brokers to sell shares by telephone. They sold them like a "set of sharp knives" in teleshopping shops, often at prices completely out of touch with reality. And as a rule, investors came out of such transactions battered.

It was, however, far too little for the ambitious financier. So he started issuing shares and eventually employed over a thousand brokers. However, they dealt with moves that could be delicately described by playing on the edge of the law. The line that Jordan Belfort himself crossed more than once and later admitted that he was only responsible for some of his misdeeds. In total, he was sentenced to 22 months in prison and was required to hand over more than $ 110 million to defrauded clients. He was the prototype of the film "Wolf from Wall Street"Leonardo di Caprio starred him and was directed by Martin Scorsese. He is demanding $ 300 million in compensation for this film. The case is in court.

The trickster is back, he will be a trainer

Meanwhile, the American stock exchange has been breaking new records in recent days. After a strong correction due to the coronavirus pandemic, US stocks are reaching levels never seen before in history. The possibility of quick and easy earnings resulted in the emergence of many new and inexperienced investors on the market. Many of them have no idea not only about the tricks used by experienced and big players to earn a lot at the expense of the little ones. They often do not know the basic principles of the functioning of the financial market. They just don't know how it all works. The complexities will be explained to them by Jordan Belfort, who has been associated with RagingBull, a company that trains investors and traders.

“A wave of new investors has hit the market, many of whom do not know what they are doing. Mind of the Wolf will be free, so there is no excuse not to follow my tips, learn what to avoid and how to take advantage of opportunities. " - says Jordan Belfort, quoted in a press release posted on the PRNewswire website.
