The digital dollar is the beginning of the technological revolution

created Natalia Bojko5 February 2020

The issues of digitization of an increasing proportion of our lives are no longer new. Technologies appear in virtually every, even the most prosaic area of everyday functioning, and it is certain that there will be more of them. Cryptocurrencies are a problematic issue of digitization. Always on the occasion of mentioning the topic of regulating these assets, there is a key problem with the reluctance of most countries to absorb even payment systems themselves Bitcon. A "new-old" idea for a digital dollar has appeared on the horizon.

The digital dollar is getting closer

All the fuss about the digital dollar was caused by Christopher Giancarlo, who was once responsible for the contract market as the former chairman of the American Trade Commission CFTCand currently adviser to the Chamber of Digital Commerce. In a recent media interview, he said the introduction of the digital dollar is an insuperable issue in the context of further development. The digital dollar is to be part of the technological revolution to be implemented in the near future in the US.

Christopher Giancarlo said in an interview:

“During our five years on the committee, we have witnessed a new wave of digitization in our world. The first wave was the digitization of information that created the Internet as we know it today. […] I also thought a lot about the extent to which our physical infrastructure - our bridges, tunnels, airports - had aged and damaged. They were most modern in the XNUMXs and XNUMXs. Today they are even too old for sale. Just as much of our financial infrastructure has been allowed to age and deteriorate, it has not been modernized. "

USA without comment

Christopher Giancarlo's current efforts remain overshadowed by all other issues, and the US authorities are leaving the entire "technological revolution" without comment. This is nevertheless somewhat strange due to the fact that the US was once the leader of all innovations. Both politicians and officials from the United States are quite hostile to the topic of cryptocurrencies, so the topic of e-dollar may also be so "controversial" that it will be put away in the drawer for a long time. The most important argument against the introduction of innovation in digital payments is the public's habit of having and concluding cash transactions.
