Time for stock market shopping? [Closer to the Stock Exchange]

created Forex Club14 Września 2022

The progress of the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the east of the country gives optimism not only to the Ukrainians themselves, but also to market participants. The end of the conflict would certainly contribute to an increase in sentiment towards the Polish stock exchange, although Ukrainian companies could benefit the most from such a scenario. We already saw a foretaste of such behavior at the beginning of this week, when many of the companies included in WIG-Ukraine recorded increases of several dozen percent. However, it is worth remembering that given the history of the Warsaw Stock Exchange so far, no bear market ended without a cycle of interest rate cuts.

Temporary bounce?

Although it seems that the very end of the war in Ukraine will lead to a noticeable correction of the recent declines, without the support of the central bank, this rebound will most likely be only temporary. Nevertheless, the current valuations of Polish companies are already at very low (though not as attractive as at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic) levels. Is it time to go shopping on the stock exchange?

We invite you to the next webinar Closer to the Stock Exchange, in which Maciej Kietliński presents the most important market information and discusses the most interesting companies listed on domestic and foreign stock exchanges.

In the latest webinar:

  • A breath of optimism from Ukraine - an impulse to bull market?
  • How will increases in energy prices affect companies?
  • What's next with the valuation of KGHM?
