Big profits, big losses. Summary of the two weeks of the SyncTrading test [TEST # 4]

created Natalia BojkoNovember 4 2020

The last weeks have been quite perverse on the stock exchanges. First, we struggled with the lack of greater volatility, which was not a suitable place for dynamic trading, then with a large excess of it. During this time, the mass passed "Classic" market themes that confused the sentiment… and in our test SyncTrading from TeleTrade. Admittedly, today's summary does not include the choices that are sure to bring fresh decisions, new opportunities and greater positions. However, they will not be missing in the next summary. Meanwhile, I invite you and encourage you to take a look at the current results.

Check it out: What is SyncTrading TeleTrade and copy trading

It is most dangerous where it is safe

Perhaps this subtitle sounds like butter, but nevertheless it fully reflects what happened recently on our secure bill. Trader a little bit "Gone crazy" at the size of the items that significantly depleted his and our account. As a reminder, it is worth saying that we connected the amount of EUR 5 to each trader. The current account balance is as follows:

The most losing positions are worth showing. Why? For example, to know that when we decide to copy traders, we should control them, just like employees. If we notice something disturbing, e.g. that the trader has much larger positions than usually, it is worth cutting off from him for this time  and wait it out on his bill. Due to the fact that, by assumption, we are not supposed to change traders in order to verify whether it is possible to profit from them in the long term, we will not follow this advice. Nevertheless, let's look at the account and those items that depleted its value the most.

We can see that the trader kept adding new positions to AUD / CAD. He bought them on new lows, bringing them up to levels he had never traded before. Usually, at a 200% copy level, he traded 0,04 lots, 0,02 lots, sometimes 0,06 lots. In this case, they reached the value of 2,07 on a single transaction. Lack stop losses in this case, and with such large transactions, it turned out to be deadly.

Slowly and forward

A trader with a medium risk level has been generating a stable rate of return recently. It is not big, but it is still positive. The current account balance is exactly 5224,58.

This trader does not give any alarming signals. Still contains positions on only one instrument - EUR / USD. They are similar in value to the previous ones, and keeping them overnight is also in this trader's nature.

Aggressive trade has shown its claw

The last two summaries of the test were actually quite stagnant. It is true that we were in the black, but the intensity of traders' activities was small. When choosing the trader with the most aggressive risk profile, we counted on seeing “real speculation” on such an account. However, it did not happen ... until today's summary. With pleasure, but with moderate optimism, I present the result on the account linked to the most aggressive trader.

I have marked the most profitable transactions in the graphic below. Were these a risky game? It is hard to disagree with this, due to the really significant items contained therein. Nevertheless, the risk is definitely positive here and I expect such games from this bill.

The aggressive trader actually "did the job" and generated a profit that more than made up for the safe trader's loss. However, we hope that ASProfiway The (safe trader) will return to shape and make up for all the losses.

Summation

Currently, the situation on our accounts is as follows:

  • Safe trader: 4080,54 €
  • Moderate trader: 5224,58 €
  • Aggressive trader: 6214,70

Result from the beginning of the test: + 3,46 %
