IC Markets introduces fees for data access

created Michał SielskiAugust 14 2020

Data access fees in IC Markets? Yes, if you use the access to data on Australian shares listed on the local stock exchange, you must take into account an additional monthly fee, which will be charged by the IC Markets broker from September this year.

Data Access Fees

Information about the new fee has just been sent to the clients of the Australian broker IC Markets, also popular in Poland. From 01.09.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX, you must take into account an additional fee for market data for CFDs on the shares of the Australian stock exchange ASX.

Interestingly, you don't have to make any transactions to be charged an additional fee. It is enough that you have access to market data from MetaTrader 5 platforms. If so, an account once a month will be charged a fee of AUD 22. The fee will be charged at the beginning of the next month in which the market data was obtained. If a given customer has multiple accounts, they will be charged only once.

Also on 01.09.2020/7/XNUMX, a minimum commission will be introduced on CFDs on Australian stocks. It will be AUD XNUMX regardless of the value of the transaction.

If you have asked for access to shares from the ASX market on the MT5 platform, consider if you still need it.

Millions of euros on the players' jerseys

The introduction of additional fees may come as a surprise, because in recent months brokers have earned a fortune. The turmoil in the markets related to the coronavirus resulted in an avalanche of new, often inexperienced clients who were a tasty morsel for brokers. Even those who - like IC Markets operating since 2007 - use STP / ECN modelwhich means that the trades made through it are directed to the real market - unlike many brokers who "bet" with their clients and make money when they lose.
