CMC Markets provides cryptocurrency to retailers

created Paweł MosionekAugust 30 2018

CMC Markets, one of the largest Forex / CFD brokers, announced the expansion of the offer addressed to retail clients with CFD contracts for the two most popular cryptocurrencies - Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Cryptocurrencies for everyone

Initially, cryptocurrencies were available only to professional clients. This decision was probably dictated by the relatively uncertain situation on these instruments - high volatility of rates, uncertain liquidity, and, consequently, also crazy spreads. After almost 6 months from entering CFD trading on digital coins, CMC decided to change the offer. As a result, cryptocurrencies have just been made available to everyone, without exception.

CFD contracts make it possible to trade on this group of instruments without the need to purchase tokens on cryptoclosure exchanges, whose legal regulations are only on the fledgling level.

Terms of trade:

  • Bitcoin - BTC / USD is available with a minimum 60 spread and 50% security deposit (lever 1: 2),
  • Ethereum - ETH / USD is available with a minimum spread of 6 and a margin of 50% (leverage 1: 2).

Trading on both instruments takes place from 00: 00 on Mondays to 22: 00 on Fridays, without the option of concluding transactions on weekends.

David Fineberg, Commercial Director of CMC Markets:

Since the successful introduction of our cryptocurrency offer in March, we have received growing interest and demand from our customer base to trade this unique class of digital assets. Our clients expressed interest in trading on the two most popular tokens - BTC and ETH - therefore we are happy to offer them the opportunity to trade these cryptocurrencies. "

It is worth noting that CMC Markets does not restrict the direction of transactions (long and short positions are available), and does not set a maximum duration. The company, however, reserved the possibility of introducing modifications in the terms of trade depending on the changing level of interest in the offer.
