MT4 and MT5 available again in the Apple App Store after 6 months
After nearly half a year, the MT4 and MT5 platforms are available again in the Apple App Store. New users can now download apps again and existing users will be able to download app updates.
Apple's puzzling decision
At the end of September last year, the industry Forex / CFD information circulated about removal of MetaTrader 4 and 5 platforms from the App Store. This meant problems both for existing users (no possibility to download updates, a decrease in security in the long term) and for new clients of brokers, who were practically deprived of the possibility of mobile trading using these applications (unless they had previously downloaded them to their Apple devices ).
The reasons for the removal are unknown to date, but it has been speculated that sanctions and company affiliations are the cause MetaQuotes (author of MetaTrader) with Russia. It was also assumed that it could be the activity of scam brokers who regularly use the MQ software as their platform in preparing fraudulent offers. In fact, however, scams usually buy access to MetaTrader not directly from its authors but from third parties, which should not affect the activities of MetaQuotes, so it's hard to say how much truth there is in this.
MT4 and MT5 available in the Apple App Store - permanently?
Undoubtedly, MT4 and MT5 are the most popular trading platforms in the world. This, combined with the fact that a lot of traders use Apple devices, has created quite a problem for brokers. In a panic, many companies began to take steps to decouple their mobile commerce offering from MetaQuotes and began to look for alternative iOS platforms or create their own. At the moment it turns out to be superfluous, but who could know what will happen next? At present, it seems unlikely that Apple will remove MT4/5 from its store again "in a while" (longer or shorter). After all, the sanctions against Russia are still in place and the war continues. The scams also did not stop their activity, what about we regularly inform you through a list of warnings.
