What are ETFs

Exchange Traded Funds, or ETFs, are passive investment funds listed on the stock exchange. The goal of ETFs is to map the movements of a given index or group of stocks as faithfully as possible. Unlike actively managed mutual funds, ETFs are passively managed. This means that the role of the fund is limited to monitoring the compliance of the ETF price with the index. ETF differs from traditional funds, among other things, in that it is quoted constantly, is updated on each session and is characterized by very low transaction costs and transparency.
