Polish industry in decline. What will the week bring?

created Forex Club5 Września 2022

The end of last week was quite positive due to Friday's mood NFP report and EU announcements of interference in the energy market. Optimism, however, faded quickly when Russian Gazprom informed about the indefinite suspension of gas transmission to Europe. If the company does not resume deliveries and suspend the transfer via other routes, the stock of gas is likely to fall below the levels of the previous winter in January. Brussels has already announced its willingness to fight high prices on the energy market, which translated into their drastic drops. However, the uncertainty as to the shape of the EU strategy leaves a dose of uncertainty on the market, which may be reflected in future readings of entrepreneurs' sentiment.

Polish industry in trouble

Lower production and the number of orders have already led to the sharpest reduction purchasing activity of Polish producers from June 2020. To make matters worse, the PMI index published last week did not point to concerns about energy costs, but to a sharp drop in orders. A nightmarish reading might suggest that there is something exceptionally wrong with the Polish industry, but the trend is the same everywhere - especially in Germany.

We invite you to a webinar with the Chief Economist XTB Przemysław Kwiecień, PhD, in which he will focus on the key topic of the last few days - the Polish industry in collapse.

  • Will the Polish industry collapse?
  • Will OPEC lead to growth oil prices?
  • What's next with the valuation of the WIG20 index?
