Buy Christmas presents in November, forget about December

created Forex ClubNovember 16 2021

If you are annoyed by the melody "Last Christmas”Played in mid-November, this year you have to grit your teeth. Due to the problems in the global logistics industry, it is difficult to predict what the supply of stores will look like before Christmas. Paradoxically, these problems and the purchase of gifts in November may bring record results for Christmas sales.

Due to problems in the logistics industry, this holiday may be different from the previous ones. We can already see that there is a shortage of selected electronic products both in Poland and in the world. For example, people who want to buy the company's latest smartphones Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, they have to wait three weeks or more for delivery. This is due to the lack of microprocessors on the global market. This is a problem similar to that experienced by the automotive industry, because you have to wait up to 8 months or longer for selected car models in Poland. It cannot be ruled out that before Christmas, when the demand for many products increases, there will be even more shortages. And then it may not be possible to buy a gift before Christmas. This problem affects the e-commerce industry as much as traditional stores that use the same suppliers.

The best solution to possible problems is therefore to order gifts earlier than usual. The upcoming Black Friday (November 26.11) and Cyber Monday (November 29.11) may provide opportunities for this.when consumers count on the biggest promotions. Some of them already a few weeks earlier withhold planned purchases to make them during these two days.

It seems that despite possible problems, this year may be a record year in terms of Christmas sales. The National Retail Federation - the American organization of retailers, expects that sales this year will increase by 8,5 percent. up to 10,5 percent compared to the exceptionally good year 2020. Last week was Singles Day, the period of the biggest promotions in Chinese e-commerce. It turned out to be a great success, because sales on Alibaba (owner of the Aliexpress website) and JD.com increased by 16%. compared to 2020 and amounted to USD 133 billion. This is a big success, especially as the Chinese economy has slowed, and as Chinese authorities have called for a reduction in consumption. China is the largest e-commerce market in the world, with an online shopping share of 50%. This year's Singles Day has shown that the share of e-commerce can continue to grow. It is therefore very possible that this year's results of pre-Christmas sales around the world will be record-breaking.
