CMC Markets Mobile

CMC Markets is a relatively fresh broker on our market, however, it tries to distinguish itself from other brokers with its own platform, both stationary and mobile. Immediately at the first launch, the thing that is pleasantly surprising is the option of resigning from entering the password every time and replacing it with a "swipe pattern", which is a method known from unlocking Android smartphones. Convenient option. It is less convenient that you have to unlock the platform every time we turn off the phone for even 3 seconds, despite the fact that the application is still active. I have no objections to the stability of the operation, the speed is also not bad, although a change of the tab of the observed instruments often causes a 2-second wait for the loading of the rates, even though, for example, they duplicate with another folder that was active a moment ago. There were also sporadic suspensions when trying to load a new chart, but it was not common.

Interface and personalization - in this aspect, the CMC platform partially breaks its competitors. The configuration options for orders are powerful - we can, for example, define a default SL / TP value added to the order, but it was already there. CMC gives you the choice of specifying the distance in points, currency or as a percentage. What's even better, we can set up a completely different configuration for each group of instruments. With such options, I consider the option of choosing a transaction unit to be something standard :-). Behind every big plus there must be an equally big minus. And it is so - we have only one color version to choose from, which means that the choice is made by itself. It is similar with the colors of the graphs, which cannot be modified in any way.

In my opinion, the window with quotes is too colorful, over-tinted and thus lost its transparency. My feelings are similar to the ordering panel. A real color show, with black, red, green, blue, orange, gray, white… definitely too much. Transaction history and again the problem with transparency - too many details and "description" that causes our eyesight to be distracted from what is really important.

The number of instruments offered is impressive - over 10 - mainly due to the shares, of which there are 000. They are sorted into categories and it is possible to search by name. We can also sort alphabetically or according to increases and decreases. Unfortunately, with this amount, more options would be useful, e.g. division into countries, and even indices to which the companies are subject. The advantage, however, is the access to binary options and express contracts on the same platform - some brokers share these instruments by creating a separate application. Interestingly, the authors have even prepared an option for compulsive gamblers :-). When trading options, we can set a loss limit for binary transactions (and contracts), e.g. 9 or 500 days, where after reaching the limit, the platform will not allow us to continue trading on these instruments - great.

Unfortunately, the charts are quite clunky. Although we have a choice of as many as 13 types, they are actually 4 main ones (+ for Heiken Ashi) in several variations. One of the more annoying things is when the graph ends on the y axis - this gives the impression that the rate has hit the wall and will not move sideways anymore (which of course will not happen 🙂). Keeping at least a minimum distance from this axis would improve clarity and facilitate analysis. The number of intervals deserves a big plus, in addition to traditional ones, we also have access to 5-, 10- and 30-second intervals. Standard pointers and objects are available. Adding, removing and modifying tools is quick and intuitive - a big plus.

There are price alerts, there is also a calendar with macro data and news from the market - you can't fault it or praise it. Transparency correct, although market comments are like a cure, but it may be a question of a demo account. Trading on the platform is not the most pleasant. Wanting to quickly conclude transactions and modify them, I often wandered around the tabs and could not find myself. Perhaps it is also a result of the slow loading of some trade-related modules, which happened occasionally. However, this is not an application that I enjoy running with trading in mind.

Trading 212

As in the case of CMC Markets, this broker, which is gradually gaining popularity in Poland and also for its distinguishing feature from other companies, chose the trading application. Trading 212's mobile version makes a good first impression. If we want to test this application, the first time we start it, it asks us if we want to check the demo account. And already. But how is it "already"? No need to register, provide data, click the link from the e-mail? Not! One click and we are already logged in. Revelation. What if we fail? Two clicks and we reset our account, receiving a new PLN 50 for investment. It is a pity that it is so easy only on the demo :-).

The next thing is also good - the platform works fast and stable, the buttons are of the right size, and the menu is very intuitive. Unfortunately, there is nothing to write about personalization because the application only allows you to choose black or white colors, where the former looks much more interesting. There is an option to change the time zone, which is undoubtedly a plus. Unfortunately, the problem is with the instruments - there are a lot of them, and there is a search engine available, but sometimes we do not know what we are looking for and with such a number of symbols, it would be useful to divide into subgroups.

The charts are available in 5 variants, where, in addition to the standard ones, we have an additional "line" and Heiken-Ashi chart. There are a large number of indicators and a whole lot of objects (including all the Fibonacci tools I know) that we can plot on the graph when maximizing the window vertically or horizontally. Trading on the T212 platform is intuitive and you can quickly get used to it. As a curiosity, there are two modes: hedging and aggregation, i.e. combining positions on the same instrument together. Forex brokers they usually do not give their clients a choice and set one of the two modes from above. Modifying orders or adding Stop Loss / Take Profit is running quite smoothly, but not sensational fast.

The biggest innovation of the platform is… Trading active on weekends! Yes, you did not. It is possible to train trading on a demo on Saturdays and Sundays - the price is then simulated, although it is difficult for me to say on what terms.

The additions include a traders' mood indicator in the instruments tab, Tradebird feed, which is something like an investment Twitter (short news from the market, unfortunately in English), as well as a calendar with macro data (unfortunately a bit non-functional - to see forecasts and results, you have to enter each item separately). The platform itself doesn't offer much, but there is something about it that makes you want to use it.
