created Paweł MosionekJuly 24 2018

Brokerage houses and brokers supervised by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) presented reports on the profitability of their clients for the second quarter of 2018. It shows that on average 38% of retail traders recorded profits, while in the case of the Forex market it was on average 35%. These are better results compared to the first quarter, up to several percent.

Pursuant to the KNF guidelines that came into force in September of the 2016 year, Polish DMs are obliged to report statistics on the percentage of earning and losing customers divided into asset classes. The data must be presented on the broker's site to 10 on the day of the month opening the new quarter for the previous 3 months.

The tables below present the results of traders broken down into financial instruments expressed as a percentage, who concluded transactions with brokerage houses offering Forex / CFD trading and simultaneously supervised by the PFSA. The list has been expanded to include CMC Markets and Admiral Marketswho also publish these statistics.

Leader of the Forex CMC Markets

The Polish clients of the British broker CMC Markets performed the best on the currency market - 38% ended the quarter with a profit. Traders from the Admiral Markets came second. Is it possible to trade better with foreign brokers? 🙂 The average result was 35% and was underestimated by TMS Brokers and mForex, which performed the worst, generating statistics around 30% of earners.

Balance in nature must be - the worst for commodities ... CMC Markets with a result of only 30%. BossaFX clients did the best, where the percentage of profiters exceeded 40%.

Indices that are very popular among traders show extreme results. The highest earning customers were in Noble Secrities - as much as 42,16%. At the same time, as many as 76% of traders suffered a loss at Alior Bank. The remaining companies oscillated in the full range of this range.

As every quarter, theoretically the best results are attributable to instruments from the CFD category for bonds and interest rates. The vast majority of companies recorded a result in the border of 40-50% earners. The leader was TMS Brokers with the result of 62,20%. Thus, it is the best result in the whole list. However, it is worth remembering that this is the least popular group of instruments, which in combination with a low statistical sample may not show reliable results.

CFD for shares is definitely the Achilles' heel of traders. The results in this group are the worst. The recruiting leaders are the clients of Admiral Markets (40%) and CMC Markets (38%). But the average is significantly underestimated by mForex (23,81%) and BossaFX (27,08%).

Order execution - time and slippage

Noble Securities broker informed that the standard time of performing client orders on the OTC market (ie average time of order execution in standard conditions) in the II quarter of 2018 amounted to 399.72 milliseconds. This is a result of 24,6% better than the previous month (529.58 milliseconds).

In XTB in the first quarter of this year, the average execution time of the order was 58 milliseconds. The Standard Order Processing Time in XTB, understood as the maximum execution time of the order in which 99% of orders were processed, was 421 milliseconds.

Slips when executing orders in XTB

XTB also provided statistics on slippage prices. In the execution of orders in the market mode on CFD 68.00 instruments,% of transactions were carried out with a price slippage equal to 0, 15.49% with positive, and 16.51% with negative slip for the customer. These results are almost identical to those achieved in the first quarter.

The broker also provided a summary of average spreads for all CFD instruments - Check average spreads

Additionally, it is worth remembering that Admiral Markets, as the only broker, frequently updates the details of the execution of its clients' orders online - Check HERE.
