Tickmill UK introduces a fee for inactivity on the account

created Paweł MosionekDecember 30, 2020

Tickmill UK is another broker that joins the group of companies charging fees for inactivity on the investment account by the client. The new commission will only be charged in specific cases.

An attack on traders' funds? Not necessarily

The problem of brokers is ... "Pennies" outstanding on traders' accounts. Keeping these accounts "active" and ready to trade places a burden on trading servers with limited capacity. These, on the other hand, have a direct impact on the speed (and number) of processed customer orders. Traders, often after a series of unsuccessful transactions, no longer think about resetting a balance that has several cents or a few dollars left. The solution to the problem of brokers (and their active clients) is to "clean" inactive accounts by charging a fee and then deactivating them.

Each deactivated account can be reactivated by the customer without the need for new registration.

This type of commission is getting longer "Market standard". Similar items in their price lists have long been held, among others XTB, Dukascopy, TMS Brokers, or Admiral Markets.

In the case of Tickmill UK charge "Reset" the balance will be debited only on accounts, for which the balance is equal to or less than GBP 10, USD 10, EUR 10 or PLN 25. As with other companies, the billing will not result in an overdraft on the customer's account. No transaction has been recorded for the account to be considered “inactive” for 12 months (or more). To avoid the fee, simply increase your balance, withdraw the remaining funds or make one transaction every 12 months.

Profit for charity

Tickmill declares that all inactivity fees deducted from its clients' accounts will be donated to charity. This is a novelty that we have not met before.

The broker itself is known for its charity work - from Asia, through Africa, to Europe. The group regularly supports campaigns supporting the poor and disadvantaged, including the Polish hospice of the Gajusz Foundation for terminally ill children, the Bärenherz children's hospice, the Impact Libanon foundation (helping to eliminate the effects of the explosion in the Beirut port), foundations supporting the fight against Covid-19, and the Off Road Kids foundation (supporting homeless youth).
