Tomasz Trela ​​„Stock exchange. Beginning." [REVIEW]

A book about the stock market for beginners? For us, big players with quite a lot of experience who are even on forex are successful? Er, let the young read ... Nothing could be further from the truth. The recently published book by Tomasz Trela ​​is one of the best publications by a Polish author for any investor - even those who consider themselves an experienced speculator. However, this book may disappoint many. I'm already explaining why.

Golden advice, ready-made systems that allow you to make a fortune? Of course you won't find it here. Okay, so maybe hints on what to look for, what to look for? Sort of, but not really. There will be a promise that it will not be easy and you will never be able to stop learning. Sounds promising? Not at all ... But this is the way to become an investor who will be able to live from this profession, and at a good level.

Knowledge is everywhere

I must admit that for a debut book, it reads pretty well. It is not over-the-top, lightly written, and there is no shortage of knowledge that can be applied in everyday trading. 

Its advantage is also timeliness. We have a reference to the recent crises, the plays that could have been made during them (as well as those that many have made and changed money into top cash), and above all, when and why. Time and reason should be the main determinants of our games. How best to choose them - here are some tips, but of course every situation is slightly different, so keep a cool head.

The author points out that nowadays, for a few, a maximum of a dozen or so dollars, we can have access to analyzes and studies that had to be done years or even weeks ago. Today it only takes a few mouse clicks. So why not every day new lakeside villas are built, which are being built by more millionaires, making a fortune by trading? The answer is painfully true: because we are lazy. The author does not mince words and directly names all the vices of the average investor. However, there is nothing to be offended, after a deeper reflection, these features can be found in each of us.

First of all, the foundations

More experienced investors who rely on technical analysis will surely start grinding their teeth when they read that technical analysis is useless and stupid to invest in the long term. So we will not find in this book charts that are especially triumphant among Forex traders. 

You can agree or disagree with it, but it is undoubtedly reflected in the author's investment performance. However, he himself points out that this applies to the American companies market. It is the Wall Street market that for him is a reflection of the "real" stock exchange, of which the Polish Stock Exchange - according to the author - is not even up to the heels. 

In the book, we will find some concrete examples to prove this thesis, but it is more of the mentoring voice of an experienced investor, rather than an indication of what, when and how much to invest exactly. Reading the story of people who want to be successful in the financial market quickly, one can get the impression that many people lack such a voice.

About the author

Tomasz Trela ​​has been managing a foreign closed-end investment fund since 2011. Since 2017, he has also been the executive director of the British consulting company Hudson Hill Associates Ltd., and since 2018 of the Polish sister company Hudson Hill Trust S.A. Since 2019, he has also been the CEO of the American investment fund Dog Eat Dog Venture Capital LLC.

As part of the fund, VC runs his boutique consulting company Hudson Hill Associates Ltd. and an educational branch of the American consulting company Two Sigma Advisors LLC. 

Educational activity is the most media side of his professional life, but he admits that he devotes the vast majority of him to managing an investment fund.
