Trading 212 and the order execution problem. The broker blames the others

created Michał SielskiNovember 26 2020

The Finance Magnates portal published information from one of the clients Trading 212 broker about big problems with the operation of its trading platform, which can cause huge losses for individual investors. The company does not deny it, but blames it on technical problems ... Interactive Brokers.

The reader of Finance Magnates did not leave a dry thread on Trading212. It draws attention not only to the once again stuttering trading platform, but to its total paralysis that has occurred in recent days. According to an online report, thousands of clients had no way of executing the transaction. What's more, the company's support remains deaf to users' comments, even when errors appear at the time of concluding a transaction (once it has been started). It goes without saying that it can cause huge financial losses, to which of course - as usual - individual investors are exposed. Especially the least experienced.

Trading 212: It's Not Us, It's Interactive Brokers

Trading212 company, which is licensed British FCA, admitted to Financial Magnates journalists that she did indeed have undefined technical problems. However, he does not feel guilty. He believes that the fault was on the part of Interactive Brokers, which acts as an intermediary.

“The execution of orders was delayed due to downtime on the part of the intermediary, Interactive Brokers, which completely limited our ability to process transactions. Currently, the company is working on increasing the capacity so that the situation does not repeat itself in the future " - we read in the release from Trading212.

The broker is under fire

Trader 212, which also dynamically advertises its transaction platform in Poland, has to deal with technical problems not for the first time. Literally a few weeks ago, it was attacked by the simplest, hard-to-call hacking method - DDoS, consisting in a massive number of page / platform views. Back then, users also had trouble with transactions, but fortunately we managed to deal with it in one day.

The problem may concern several hundred thousand people, because the company argues that it has over half a million active accounts with funds reaching the amount of USD 1 billion.
