Wall Street results are the number 1 topic [Closer to the Stock Exchange]

The season for publishing quarterly results on Wall Street is already underway and, according to Bank of America analysts, it is one of the best-promising seasons for publishing results in nearly a decade. 90% of companies that have already published their reports positively surprised with the level of profits. One example is the aforementioned Bank of America, whose shares ended Tuesday's session up 0,6% in response to higher-than-expected earnings per share (97 vs. expected 80 cents).

Travel companies will revive?

According to analysts, an increase in profits should be expected primarily from companies in the still strong consumer sector. The market consensus points to an increase in profits travel companies by an average of 16%. High expectations are also associated with the results of enterprises in the industrial, energy and financial sectors. Companies in the basic goods sector, as well as media companies, are faring worse.

Investors' attention is focused on well-known brands such as, for example Netflix, whose revenues in the first quarter of this year increased by 3,7% y/y to USD 8,2 billion. The first trimester of 2023 also brought an increase in the total number of users of the popular streaming platform - according to the report published on Tuesday, it currently amounts to 232,5 million, which means an increase of 4,9% compared to the previous year.

Another company whose quarterly results attract the attention of investors is Tesla. The end of the "Zero Covid" policy in China and the resulting opening of the economy meant that fears of a decline in production have subsided. Meanwhile, due to the drastic reduction of models 3 and Y, the pressure of expectations for an increase in the company's revenues is growing. Will Elon Musk manage to positively surprise investors?
