MetaTrader 5 update (build 2450). Added among others negative price service

The next update of MetaTrader 22 appeared on May 5, which was marked as Build 2450. The list of introduced changes and news is substantial. Below we describe the most important of them.

MetaTrader 5 update - what's new?

The developers have prepared a decent portion of new products for their users, as well as introduced modifications that have proved to be simply forced by market events (i.e. fall in oil prices to negative values).

Data Provider Subscriptions

In the bookmark Showcase a new item has appeared - Subscriptions divided into regions of the world. From this level, we can buy access to market data from entities such as Nasdaq, CME, NYSE, BOVESPA and other exchanges (e.g. quotes or volumes from selected exchanges and instruments), which we can then use in our strategies. Subscriptions are paid through your account in the MQL5.community community.

Transaction history visible on the chart

An option that was previously available but hardly anyone knew about it. It can be said that in this update only the ability to easily display / hide history on the chart has been added. In the chart settings, just select "Show trade history". Another option is to choose from the drop-down menu "Trade History" after right clicking on the chart.

Earlier it was necessary to transfer individual transactions or all (with the shift held) from the history to the chart. This option still works on MT4.

New color version of the charts

Classic colors have not changed since ... the premiere of MetaTrader 4, that is from 2003. So far, we have had templates with candles in the color available:

• black and white
• yellow and black,
• green and black.

Now there is a fourth option - green with red. On many other platforms, this combination has long been a standard that many traders like.

Display of order levels on the chart has been improved

Tickets (transaction numbers) are no longer displayed for levels of open positions and orders to increase chart transparency. The remaining text was increased for this (order type, volume, price). In addition, levels are automatically hidden if the graph height is less than 80 pixels.

New columns in the window Retail

There is the option of adding three new columns in the tab Retail. Those are:

• Change - The profitability percentage of the operation
• Value - The market value of the item
• Magic - identifier of orders and positions opened by the Expert Advisor (the so-called magic numbers)

The last two columns have also been added to the tab History. Each of them can be hidden at your own discretion - the option is available by right-clicking in the window / column settings.

Negative price support

Recent market events surprised not only traders, but also MetaQuotes developers, who when designing the platform did not foresee the possibility of negative prices on CFDs. The latest update ensures correct operation of both the MT5 platform and transaction support in the event of negative prices (negative prices). Thanks to the update when the price is lower than 0, it is possible to correct:

• Displaying offers in Market Watch,
• Displaying charts and market depth,
• Execution of orders,
• Calculation of profits and margin.

Other, smaller news and modifications

• The maximum number of symbols that can be simultaneously displayed in a window Market Watch, has been increased to 5000.
• Sorting of chats from MQL5.community by date of last update has been fixed.
• Optimized and accelerated operation with a large number of commercial symbols (50 and more).
• Fixed an issue where the item could not be closed if its current volume did not match the volume change step for the given symbol.
• Performing operations on historical tick charts (MQL5) has been optimized and accelerated.
• A number of minor improvements have been made to MetaEditor and MQL5 functions.
