Watch out for the IC Markets, FxPro and Interactive Brokers clones

created Paweł MosionekAugust 5 2021

There are new scams on the market. Clone entities that use the name, image and colors of legally operating, popular brokers are again trying to extort funds from unaware traders. This time, the choice of fraudsters fell on IC Markets, FxPro and Interactive Brokers. We recommend vigilance!

IC Markets clone

Fraudsters impersonate a popular Australian broker as ICm-Market under the domain - www.icm-market.com. What worse, this site is a very authentic copy of the IC Markets domain. Be sure to pay attention to the URLs of the domain you are entering.

FxProCrypto clone

Another "fake" is FxProCrypto. Interestingly, the scammer is impersonating partly a Cypriot broker FxPro, which has been operating for over a decade, and partly as IC Markets. Scam operates under the domain www.fxprocrypto.com, however, there are such company names as: Raw Trading Limited / International Capital Markets Pty Limited / IKBK Holdings Limited / BullishFXMarkets Limited.

The site is again almost a 1: 1 mirror of the domain ... IC Markets. After entering the domain, a pop-up window appears with a suggestion to deposit funds directly to the cryptocurrency wallet.

Under no circumstances should we ever do this - no legally operating broker asks for it.

Warnings were issued against both entities on the Cypriot financial supervision website - CySEC.

Interactive Brokers clone

One of the largest US brokers also fell victim to "cloning" scammer. This time, the scammers use websites such as:

The website uses the company data of Interactive Brokers (UK) Ltd, a branch registered in Great Britain. An official warning is available on the website British regulator FCA here:
