created Michał SielskiAugust 10 2020

International Plus500 broker became the main sponsor of the Polish football champions - Legia Warsaw. The amount of the contract has not been disclosed, but it is certainly counted in millions of zlotys, because the Plus500 logo will be the most exposed place on the front of the football shirts.

Plus500 he immediately became the main sponsor of Legia Warszawa. The contract will start with the 2020/2021 season, starting in August. It has been signed for 2 years with an option to extend it for another 12 months.

“We are happy to start cooperation with such a unique club as Legia Warszawa. In doing so, we continue our commitment to supporting professional sport and sponsoring top-class championship clubs around the world. Cooperation with Legia will help us to consistently strengthen the international recognition of the Plus500 brand, as well as increase the awareness of our company among customers in Poland, which is an important market with great potential for us " - commented David Zruia, president of Plus500.

The dynamically developing Plus500 broker is not an anonymous sponsor in the football world. He is already known as the patron of the Spanish Atletico Madrid, which he has been supporting since the beginning of 2015. This year, in June, the company signed a sponsorship agreement with the Swiss champion Young Boys Bern.

President of Legia: together we will build our position in Europe

Understandably, the authorities of the Warsaw club are most pleased with the wider entry into the Polish market.

“I am very glad that Plus500, as an international institution operating on the global financial market, noticed the marketing potential of Legia as the most successful club and the strongest Polish sports brand and decided to build its position in our region of Europe together with us. Plus500 is not only the market leader, but as the main sponsor of Atletico Madrid, it is also an experienced football partner of the highest European level. I am all the more proud of our cooperation, which proves that Legia's position and successes have been appreciated on an international scale " - notes Dariusz Mioduski, president of the board and owner of Legia Warszawa

Brokers are eager to promote themselves with sport

Plus500 is not the first broker to promote through sponsorship of sports clubs. Another broker - IC Markets - has recently become the official sponsor of Serie A players Inter Milan players. This is certainly a much larger investment than the sponsorship of Legia Warszawa, because a small logo on the sleeves of the shirts of the Italian Premier League club has to be paid 10 million euros a year.

Earlier, in 2017, a sponsorship agreement with Everton from the English Premiership was signed by Blackwell Global - at that time a broker with an annual experience in the following markets: British, Cypriot, Australian and New Zealand. FxPro Broker but sponsors Watford FC, playing in the English Premier League. The same broker previously supported AS Monaco from the French league. Another club from the English league - West Ham - cooperated with two brokers. They were sponsored by both Hantec Markets and Scope Markets.

The biggest club that cooperates with brokerage companies is undoubtedly Real Madrid - a multiple champion of Spain and winner of the Champions Cup. "Royal" have been associated with Exness for three years.

Brokers are increasingly interested in sponsoring football clubs for two reasons. The first is that 95% of traders are men - and they mostly visit football stadiums and watch matches on TV. The second is the ongoing process of changing the social group that is these fans. Only a few decades ago, the working class dominated the stands, but today football is a marketing product appreciated by increasingly wealthy people. Watching matches in the box with glasses of the most expensive champagne in your hands does not surprise anyone anymore.
