Nine out of ten shares in which Polish clients invested XTB are companies listed on the WSE. The only foreign company in TOP10 was Tesla. The most popular stocks in Poland

At the end of 2020, XTB clients in Poland had access to 4743 investment products, of which 2509 were shares and another 1848 CFDs on shares. In the case of shares, XTB offers access to 17 markets, the largest of which is the American market (over 1300 companies) and the Polish market (282 companies). Despite the much greater availability of investment options on the US market in terms of equities, Polish clients overwhelmingly preferred to invest in domestic companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Among the ten companies in which Poles have invested the most, nine companies are listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and the only foreign enterprise is the American electric car manufacturer Tesla. The three most popular companies are well known to Polish investors, and their values ​​have aroused great interest from the beginning of 2020 - these are CD PROJEKT SA, Biomed Lublin SA and Mercator Medical SA.

- Last year, investors in Poland were appreciated mainly by the largest companies on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in terms of capitalization, in particular those related to new technologies. The undisputed leader in terms of interest turned out to be CD Projekt, mainly due to the premiere of Cyberpunk 2077. Despite many shortcomings in the game itself, Cyberpunk 2077 was a sales hit, and in some respects with record results. It is also worth paying attention to Allegro, which is currently the largest company on the WSE and the leader in the e-commerce industry in Poland. Due to the pandemic, investors also looked for opportunities in the biotechnology industry. Companies such as Biomed Lublin or Mercator Medical made it possible to achieve even several hundred percent returns. - said Michał Stajniak Senior Financial Markets Analyst in XTB.

Nevertheless, due to global recognition, CD Projekt shares enjoyed great popularity also in other markets. Above all, however, it is worth paying attention to the interest in global technology companies. The producers of electric cars, i.e. Tesla and Nio, received special attention. Tesla in 2020 has become the largest company in the automotive industry in terms of capitalization.
