On Tuesday, November 8, midterm elections were held in the United States. The Americans will decide on the further distribution of forces in Congress. These elections are a kind of evaluation of the activities of both the current government and, above all, the current president. Preliminary results published after 10:00 am by Reuters indicate a high probability of maintaining the Democratic advantage in the Senate, while losing control over the House of Representatives.

US media, based on the interim results, indicated that Pennsylvania Deputy Governor Democrat John Fetterman will replace Republican Pat Toomey as Senator. If these forecasts prove correct, it will be the first time that one party has taken over the US Senate in this election. The results of the November elections will also have an impact on the future presidential campaign, which for Joe Biden may turn out to be more difficult than the one in 2020. Because of rising inflation and record high gasoline prices, support for the incumbent president fell to just 39% in November.
