What to play for the World Cup? [Closer to the Exchange]

created Forex ClubNovember 23 2022

An estimated 1,2 million fans will visit Qatar during the event World Cup in football. It is also likely to generate millions in profits for the flag carrier, Qatar Airways, and the country's hotels and restaurants. However, the organization of the World Cup by Qatar has been controversial for years.

Qatar spent $220 billion on the World Cup

It is believed that the estimated cost of construction and preparations to host the FIFA World Cup was approximately USD 220 billion, making it the most expensive event of its kind in history. The source of most of the expenditure is the construction of international football specification stadiums. These may bring long-term benefits to Qatar, although the promotional dimension of organizing such an event by a small country in the Arabian Peninsula is probably of greater value. Among the sponsors of the Championship there are brands such as Adidas, Coca-Cola, Kia, McDonald's and Visa. Experts point out that due to religious restrictions in Qatar, the biggest potential beneficiary of the World Cup may be producers of soft drinks. The championships are also key events for the tourism industry, as well as clothing and sports equipment manufacturers. What companies can benefit from sports emotions?
