Biotechnology is one of the fields whose development has accelerated strongly in the XNUMXst century. Thanks to the discovery and reconstruction of the mechanism present in bacterial cells, it became possible to "cut out" specific DNA fragments and replace them with others. Thanks to it, entrepreneurs in the food sector gained the opportunity to modify their crops in a different way than in the case of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Both companies are authorized to manufacture drugs whose effects have been confirmed by clinical tests. In 2021, the entire CRISPR market was valued at over USD 2,1 billion, but analysts expect that in 2025 the capitalization of this market may exceed USD 10 billion.
