CySEC enters 6 entities on the list of warnings, including ICMarkets.one

created Paweł MosionekAugust 18 2022

Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, CySEC, has issued a warning regarding 6 illegally operating sites that offer brokerage services on Forex market and cryptocurrencies without the required licenses and permits. Among them is ICMarkets.one, a scam that tries to impersonate a highly recognized broker - IC Markets. Details below.

Beware of the Forex scams, including ICMarkets.one

The websites listed below offer the opportunity to invest in currencies, stocks, cryptocurrencies and commodities. However, all indications are that these are "typical scams", which are only aimed at extorting funds from unaware investors. None of the following entities is licensed to provide investment services and / or conduct investment activities, pursuant to Art. 5 of Act 87 (I) / 2017:

  • octatradings-llc.com
  • icmarkets.one
  • ftxindex.com
  • 360cointrade.com
  • forexiqoptions.co.uk
  • bitcointradepro.com.

Fraudsters more and more often use the names of legally operating entities to mislead less vigilant investors and, using the appearance of the pages similar to the original, they want to extort clients' funds. This is also the case with icmarkets.one this time - scammers try to impersonate a legitimate entity that is extremely popular with retail traders - IC Markets - whose original sites are www.icmarkets.com and www.icmarkets.eu.

The official CySEC message

How to recover funds from a fraudster

MyChargeBack.com is an American company specializing in the recovery of funds extorted by unreliable companies and "scams" pretending to be honest Forex brokers, binary options brokers and cryptocurrency projects. If you've been scammed, there's a good chance that MyChargeBack.com will be able to help you!

Verify the broker before opening an account!

Cypriot supervision reminds that before starting cooperation with investment firms, the best way to verify the legality of their activity is to check the licenses and permits on the websites of regulators. In the case of CySEC, this can be done on the website www.cysec.gov.cy. However, you need to be vigilant also here - recently the regulator warned against fraudsters who pretended to be ... CySEC. The scam page was a very reliable copy of the regulator's website, but it had a different address (cysecgov.com), and the information contained therein was out of date (the latest news came from October 2020).
