Will the German economy flow along with the Rhine? [Closer to the Stock Exchange]

created Forex ClubAugust 17 2022

The Rhine is one of the most important shipping lanes in Germanyused to transport goods such as grain, chemicals, minerals, coal and petroleum products. The low water level in the river is not only of great concern to inland navigation operators, but also poses a risk of an energy crisis in Poland's western neighbor.

Cheaper oil as a support

The situation on the crude oil market is somewhat optimistic - the price of WTI fell sharply on Monday, after weaker data from China triggered concerns about demand for this commodity. At the same time, Saudi Aramco has announced that it is willing to increase oil production to 12 million barrels per day if needed. The general level of supply may also be influenced by Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo. The company announced the discovery of new oil and natural gas reserves in the Norwegian Sea, the estimated size of which reaches up to 36 million barrels of oil equivalent. In addition to PGNiG, the attention of investors on the Warsaw Stock Exchange is also drawn to PKO BP, which is approaching the psychological limit of PLN 24.
