Another European country prohibits binary options

created Paweł MosionekApril 23 2019

The Dutch Financial Markets Authority (AFM) announced that it has taken steps to duplicate the limitations introduced by ESMA last year. AFM has passed new regulations on offering trade through binary options instruments and limiting the marketing, distribution or sale of CFDs to retail investors at the national level.

Binary options prohibited from 19 on April

Good Friday is the day on which a permanent ban on offering option instruments was introduced. Although the Dutch financial services market is also subject to ESMA, it should be remembered that product intervention has been introduced "temporarily" (although it has already been extended many times).

Binary options have been Banned by the European regulator already 1 July 2018 year and there is no indication that the decision will change in the future. AFM wanting to have 100-percent certainty binaries they will not return to the local market, they have decided to secure Dutch retail investors by introducing a ban at the internal level.

Effective April 19, 2019, there is a ban on the marketing, distribution or sale of binary options to retail investors in the Netherlands and the Netherlands. But it doesn't stop there - the marketing, distribution or sale of CFDs to retail investors in the Netherlands and the Netherlands has been limited to some extent. These measures apply to investment firms established in the Netherlands as well as investment firms from another EU Member State operating in the Netherlands through a branch or through the European Passenger Pass System.

Such a decision is nothing new. They have already decided on similar steps earlier Great Britain, Germany i France. It is also close to an identical decision Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
