Last week Bitcoin he struggled to regain momentum in the wake of last weekend's heavy downturns. The cryptocurrency started the week below $ 49 and despite climbing above $ 000 on Tuesday, it struggled to hold above $ 51 for the rest of the week. BTC was trading at just $ 000 on Friday, but has risen a bit since then and is now trading above $ 50.

Meanwhile Ethereum recorded gains at the beginning of the week, reaching over $ 4400 on Thursday. But trade weakness led to a decline in ETH over the weekend, reaching a low of $ 3825 on Saturday. Despite its brief spike above $ 4100 late Sunday, ETH is currently trading at just under $ 4000.

WhatsApp will enable crypto payments

WhatsApp tests cryptocurrency payments in its app via the Novi wallet. A company owned by Meta (formerly Facebook) opens a pilot program for a limited number of US users. Registered people will be able to send and receive during the trial period Personal US Dollars (US Pax Dollars, USDP) - stabelcoins stable with the US dollar. Meta says, however, that as soon as its internal cryptocurrency Diem, which has suffered over the years from failures as a result of regulatory actions, is approved, it will replace USDP in the process.

Novi CEO Stephane Kasriel commented:

"We are still very early on in the Novi pilot journey, so we made the decision to launch tests in one country and we will try to extend the project when we hear from people what they think about this new experience."

There is currently a lack of information on when the project could be rolled out in other regions or whether other cryptocurrencies such as BTC or ETH will become available to WhatsApp users.

Buy flights with SHIB

Tourist portal Travale announced that he would now accept Shiba Inu tokens (SHIB) in their bookings. The announcement was made when the company conducted an online vote it called the "Token Battle" to decide whether shib and/ or FLOCIA should be launched on the company's website.
