KNF report: 28% of traders made a profit on the Forex market in 2021
Polish Financial Supervision Authority (UKNF), as every year, published a report on customer statistics Polish Forex brokers. The document focuses primarily on the aspect of financial results achieved by retail traders. Was it confirmed a legend about 5% of earners in the foreign exchange market? Nothing similar. The statistics are surprisingly good, and in the last few years the statistical sample has almost tripled (!).
28,1% of investors made a profit
Such a high percentage of earners may be shocking. The more so because 2021 turned out to be the best year since the beginning of data collection. For comparison, in 2017 it earned only 20% and in 2020 22%. In addition, the number of active clients increased from approx. 5 thousand within 40 years. up to 112 thousand Another piece of good news is the significantly lower average loss per customer. In 2017, it was nearly -20 thousand. PLN, and last year "only" -14,4 thousand. zloty. In this respect, it was only better in 2019. However, the statistical Kowalski earned less. The average profit in 2021 was approx. 13 thousand. zloty. Better results were achieved in 2017, 2018 and 2020, but with two and three times lower number of earners.
Over PLN 1 billion in losses
There is also no shortage of optimistic information in terms of realized customer profits. In 2021, Polish traders earned a record PLN 413 million. This is almost 3 times more than in 2017 and 50% more than in 2020. On the other hand, the losses do not look so dramatic, although, similar to the year before, the barrier of one billion zlotys was exceeded. In terms of the net balance, the best year is 2019, where traders both lost the least and earned the least.
