Record profits of CMC Markets. The broker earned £ 230,9 million in six months

Next broker published financial results. CMC Markets, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, has just announced that in the first half of the 2020 financial year, which ended on September 30, 2020, it grossed 230,9 million British pounds.

These are definitely record results of the CFD broker, which is gaining mainly due to increased interest Forex market and volatility of commodity prices, as well as stock indices. The CFD broker listed on the London Stock Exchange has recorded record financial results in recent months. Net operating profit rose to £ 230,9m, an improvement of 126% year on year. In the segment CFDs, gross revenues increased by 68% year-on-year, which is due both to the greater number of transactions concluded by existing clients and the acquisition of many new ones. The number of active clients in the CFD segment increased to over 59 thousand, which translates into an increase of 42% year on year. Total net revenues in the brokerage services segment increased by 82%, and the company also boasts that it is able to retain existing clients - especially those with the largest portfolios and turnover.

Investments in technology and customer service

CMC Markets emphasizes that the excellent results are not only the result of a favorable market environment, but also investments in innovative trading platforms and the creation of the position of a technological director and employment of 68 new employees.

An excellent year for brokers

The coronavirus pandemic has caused virtually all brokers to boast of fantastic financial results. The most famous Polish broker - XTB - undoubtedly, it can also boast of an excellent first half of 2020. Virtually all important factors grew - and significantly - significantly: revenues, income, the number of new clients of the company and the average volume of their transactions. Revenues increased to PLN 518,6 million from PLN 88,78 million in the same period last year. The distribution of revenues by individual investors who have provided is also good for the company XTB as much as PLN 428 million of revenues (82% of the total) with PLN 89 million from institutional investors (18% of revenues). CFDs on raw materials account for a large part of the revenues, which accounted for 40% of the proceeds, and it is not difficult to guess that the turmoil in the crude oil market had the greatest impact.
