Trader of the month - July 2018

In the July edition of the competition, the winner was a trader named Chen. The combination of a relatively small number of transactions and high efficiency gave Chen the result of a profit of over 53 000 $, and the monthly rate of return exceeded 200%. Congratulations!

Tickmill doubles the prize
From September 2017, the broker will be able to select not one and two traders of the month, where each of them will receive an award of 1000 $

11 200 $ profit in one transaction

The high trading volume and thoughtful investment decisions contributed to such a spectacular result for the trader of the month. The record profit of the title $ 11 was brought to him by the last transaction in July - a short position on WTI oil with a volume of 200 lots. But these types of transactions were not uncommon. In the account history, you can see a few more high-volume items that ended with a profit of several thousand.

In addition to the aforementioned WTI, Chen also speculated on currency pairs - EUR / USD, GBP / JPY, GBP / USD and USD / CAD - and on gold. In the case of these instruments, the volume fluctuated between 2 lots and 8 lots.

Transactions lasted for several hours, even up to several days, and the trader himself relied on pending orders. Of 24 transactions, only 7 had Stop Loss set. Nevertheless, even transactions without SL were closed down by hand, suggesting that Chen kept trying to control the risk all the time. The largest share of capital is the WTI crude oil transaction, which was closed on SL with almost -15 000 $ loss.

Interview with a trader

How long have you been involved in trade?

I have been investing in the Forex market since 2 for years.

How did your adventure with Forex trading begin?

I was looking for a job as an investor.

What is your trading style?

He trades in accordance with the theory of games.

Do you have any risk management policies?

Yes, I set the stop loss level for orders I'm not sure about. Orders for which I have confidence do not have an SL level. This allows me to prevent the closing of orders by the market and thus I have time to watch it.

What good habits should investors be fooled about?

Every day to learn and also to think about yourself.

Describe your best / most-remembered transaction (How much did you earn? What strategy did you use? On which pair?)

A few very accurate entries on EUR / USD, GBP / JPY and USD / WTI, for which the profit was between 5,000 and 10,000, and on which I adopted a game strategy.

What advice would you give to novice investors?

The first step is to use the executive skills, the second choice of strategy that is right for you, and the third - placing orders strictly according to strategy, not accidentally.

Considering the current market situation, do you think that traders trading in macro / news trading data should keep an eye on it?

Pay attention to the distribution of capital before the announcement of the message.

What is the most important thing you expect from a Broker?

Transaction costs, stability of connection with the server, effectiveness of the payment and withdrawal system as well as experienced customer support.

competition rules

The trader is selected by the Tickmill Jury. The win is not only determined by the rate of return - it is the total that matters. Overall, i.e. the factors such as earned profit, position management, risk and trading skills are taken into account. There is also one more necessary condition - interviewing the broker and consent to make the account history public. Only then does the prize of $ 1 go to the trader's investment account.

The principles introduced are aimed not only at showing that you can make money on the Forex market, but also consciously educate and encourage sharing experience with other traders.
