Trader of the Month, Roman, earned in June 15 000 $ [Tickmill Competition]

created Paweł MosionekJuly 17 2018

Trader of the month - June 2018

Roman is the second winner in the Tickmill - Trader of the Month competition. The investor from Poland impressed the jury with its extremely high efficiency, which exceeded 80% at 481 transactions. The rate of return is "only" 32% but the profit in currency is as high as $ 14. Congratulations!

Tickmill doubles the prize
From September 2017, the broker will be able to select not one and two traders of the month, where each of them will receive an award of 1000 $

Automatem on EUR / USD

In the interview, Roman chose his words quite sparingly, but admitted explicitly that he was based on an automatic strategy. This can also be seen in his transaction history. An average of 24 items a day concluded around the clock, which usually lasted from several seconds to several dozen minutes, very often with a non-circular volume - this clearly indicates the work of the algorithm.

Almost all transactions were made in EUR / USD. Only a few concerned other instruments - GBP / USD, USD / JPY, EUR / JPY and gold. Volume? From microlights to over 5 lots per transaction. Interestingly, the flights were not incrementally increased with the account balance swelling. Even at the end of the account history, you can see that Roman was still using a relatively small volume (0.12 lots).

The profit per position is interesting - profits of a few or a dozen or so dollars are definitely dominant and they are responsible for the high percentage of effectiveness. But the profit itself was generated primarily from a dozen or so transactions amounting to $ 700-1200.

Interview with a trader

How long have you been involved in trade?

From around 4 years.

How did your adventure with Forex trading begin?

I got to know Forex guided by the desire to secure savings - the diversification of capital into markets and trade instruments.

What is your trading style?

I do not have any special style of trading, but I prefer automatic trading.

Do you have any risk management policies?

Tak.

What good habits should investors be fooled about?

Self-discipline.

Describe your best / most-remembered transaction (How much did you earn? What strategy did you use? On which pair?)

First, and I hope that the last, stop out, which hit me a few years ago. I lost about 3000 dollars on EURUSD when I averaged losses.

What advice would you give to novice investors?

Do not rely on luck, manage risk.

Considering the current market situation, do you think that traders trading in macro / news trading data should keep an eye on it?

Only those events that may lead to a change in the condition of trade by brokers - elections, referenda, and armed conflicts. All other events can be the main subject of trade.

What is the most important thing you expect from a Broker?

Reliability, protection and return of capital.

competition rules

The trader is selected by the Tickmill Jury. The win is not only determined by the rate of return - it is the total that matters. Overall, i.e. the factors such as earned profit, position management, risk and trading skills are taken into account. There is also one more necessary condition - interviewing the broker and consent to make the account history public. Only then does the prize of $ 1 go to the trader's investment account.

The principles introduced are aimed not only at showing that you can make money on the Forex market, but also consciously educate and encourage sharing experience with other traders.
