Many Polish investors manage their assets on their own

created Forex ClubDecember 2, 2021

In the most recent eToro study carried out on the Polish market, 43% of the respondents replied that they manage their own investments. Less than 5% uses the services TFI or a financial advisor. 14% does not currently invest at all, but would like to expand its knowledge in the field of investing, 5% uses the services of an investment fund company or a financial advisor, a 11% considers his home the main investment. Only 3% admit that retirement is their only investment product.

Poles want to increase their investments

It seems that the interest in investing in foreign assets is consolidating. More than half respondents plan to maintain or increase the level of investment in foreign assets in the coming year, and only 18% plans to reduce its investments in this area.

"Poles think economically, because investing on their own is the most profitable way to build an investment portfolio. We cannot predict how our investments will perform as we cannot predict the future, but we know what fees we will be paying on a daily basis. Investing is a way to multiply your resources, but it also helps to finance these accounts. In the case of some forms of investing, e.g. through managed funds, we can pay a commission of up to a few percent of the deposited funds, as well as management fees, which can reduce our profit on a 10-year investment by up to 1/3. However, other forms, such as platforms that provide a commission-free option, allow traders to save on fees and invest with a lower initial cost, making them cheaper." - said Paweł Majtkowski, eToro analyst in Poland.

More than half of the respondents have funds deposited on their own investment accounts: 20% on one bill, 12% for two and another 20% has four or more accounts that are independently managed.

Most of the respondents have a long-term investment perspective, instead of active ongoing activities: only 18% of respondents actively trades at least once every three months. 9% does this at least twice, a 5% at least three times a quarter. Half of them actively trade less than every three months.

The most popular real estate

In terms of asset classes 32% of respondents invest in real estate. 18% It has kryptowaluty, 15% goods i 12% actions. Currency holds 8% surveyed, and bonds 6%. Investment funds are selected 3%. They are the least popular ETFs, in which only 3% of the respondents invested.

"ETFs are still not very popular in Poland. A pity, because it is the cheapest and most convenient way to build a diversified investment portfolio. This solution is especially recommended to less experienced investors" - Majtkowski adds.

Half of the respondents do not have self-managed investment accounts for domestic, international or mixed assets. 17% has one such account, 11% two, but only 7% three bills. Together 14% of respondents have four or more accounts.
