Gdańsk resident cheated on "Forex". He lost 180 thousand. zloty

created Michał SielskiSEPTEMBER 13, 2020

Not only was he fooled by the online brokers' announcement, but he trusted so much in the visions of quick wealth that he spread before him that he financed part of the “investment” with loans. He lost a total of 180. PLN, and the case is dealt with by the police.

Pomeranian policemen in recent weeks have sent a message to the media several times, warning against investing in cryptocurrencies and Forex market. Not without a reason. They already knew that several residents of Gdańsk could be fooled by false offers, offering quick and easy earnings on the currency market and investments in cryptocurrencies that were not investments at all.

How they are buying on Forex in Gdańsk

Pomeranian policemen found that the fraudsters' pattern of operation was the same each time. First, there were announcements and advertisements - mostly on social media. They were directed to the inhabitants of Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot and the whole Pomerania. Many of them were very professionally prepared - they referred to local patrotism, were targeted at the inhabitants of specific cities, and the target group was carefully selected. They all had one thing in common: they were a scam that promised big profits with minimal effort. And profits, of course, "almost certain", because earning on the Forex market is a piece of cake and you only need money to multiply it quickly ...

How to recover funds from a fraudster [on-line]

MyChargeBack.com is an American company specializing in the recovery of funds extorted by unreliable companies and "scams" pretending to be honest Forex brokers, binary options brokers and cryptocurrency projects. If you've been scammed, there's a good chance that MyChargeBack.com will be able to help you!

It must also be admitted that the scammers do not exaggerate and care about the realism of the offer. Although they mention that "there are" three-digit percentage shots, this is not the rule. However, a dozen or so and several dozen percent per year is - according to their promises - the standard on the market. This is a good psychological move, because inexperienced investors have certainly heard of exorbitant (and often true) rates of return, so why shouldn't it happen to them?

It works on the imagination, and the next step is concrete, i.e. contact of the person who claims to be the broker. It is he who goes to the climax and the most important moment, asking you to install the trading application on your computer. However, this is a program that only pretends to be an investment application, and in fact allows you to learn passwords - incl. for internet banking.

He trusted and lost 180 thousand. PLN

This is what happened with a Gdańsk resident who installed the application in September, and in October he was already 180 thousand less. PLN. When the fraudsters realized that he was tricked and was eager to invest, they even persuaded him to allocate not only his money for it, but also take out a loan. In total, he took several of them, and when his creditworthiness ran out, the fraudsters simply transferred money from his account to an account created for a substitute. And they disappeared.

The deceived person realized that he had fallen victim to extortion only when the phone of the fake "broker" stopped responding. It was then that he notified the policemen who are dealing with the case and looking for fraudsters.

"- Extortion is made by people claiming to be the so-called brokers - employees of companies dealing with brokerage and investment consulting. They advertise their services through advertising on social media, websites and mobile applications. In order to attract attention and authenticate the content, advertisements even use images of well-known and recognizable people: sportsmen, politicians, actors, journalists, celebrities, of course without their knowledge and consent, and the message is manipulated. This information is directed to potential victims, pointing to the possibility of achieving very high profits " - tells Mariusz Chrzanowski from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Gdańsk.

In this particular case, we have already collected testimonies of other people who realized that something was wrong and uninstalled the application in time or refused to use it. Then contact broke off.
