created Michał SielskiNovember 8 2021

The biggest "Polish" giełda kryptowalut- Bitbay - founded by a controversial businessman Sylwestra Suszkachanged its name. Now that Zonda Global. Clients of the exchange with approximately USD 50 million of daily turnover are already receiving e-mails asking them to accept the new regulations. An American investor is also to enter the company and he finishes the audit of the company's balance sheets. From November 5, 2021, Sylwester Suszek is no longer officially associated with the company.

The Bitbay cryptocurrency exchange is the largest token exchange platform not only in Poland, but also in Central and Eastern Europe. For several months, however, it has been loud about the ownership changes. Especially after the past of the president and founder of the stock exchange - Sylwester Suszek - and his associates came to light.

W TVN supervisors a report was published which indicated that there are people convicted of VAT fraud on the Bitbay management board. Marek K., who owns a 35% stake in the BitBay exchange, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for complicity in the murder and a fine of PLN 45 million for VAT fraud on the fictitious trade in exotic wood. PLN 15 million for the development of the stock exchange in 2017 came from the investor whom Polish Financial Supervision Authority accused of manipulations on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Sylwester Suszek himself was supposed to be a "pole".

Officially, Sylwester Suszek is the son of a teacher and miner, he grew up in Piekary Śląskie. In his youth, he traded computer parts a little, then he wanted to be a financial broker, and finally founded a cryptocurrency exchange.

There is no Bitbay, there is Zonda Global

Already in May, we reported that the stock exchange has a mysterious investor from the US who began to investigate its records. There are many indications (or the stock exchange management wants a lot to indicate) that it is getting closer to signing the contract, because it has already been decided to change the name. Exchange users received surprising e-mails with the following content:

"The new Zonda regulations

Dear User, new Regulations will apply on our platform from November 15, 2021. You can check its provisions below, the changes are marked in bold. Accepting changes to the Regulations does not require additional activity. If you do not accept the changed Regulations, you should notify us immediately - in writing or via e-mail to support@bitbay.net in order to terminate the contract. "

Only from the last sentence you can guess that it is about Bitbaywhich has changed its name to Zonda. The rebranding covered all the companies of the group, which will soon offer a wider range of products: a Zonda Card debit card, the possibility of staking cryptocurrencies, as well as changing the transaction service and mobile application. In the fall of next year, the details of the takeover by the US company are to be finalized.

“We are changing our name and logo and moving our website to the new zondaglobal.com domain. At the same time, all logins, accounts and passwords of users will remain the same, and our trading platform and application will not be changed in any way, thus using it will remain as it was before " - we read in the company's announcement.

Sylwester Suszek is not here, is Sylwester Suszek here?

Since May, Sylwester Suszek is no longer with the company. On November 5, 2021, it was even officially deleted from the registers. Marek K. is also no longer there.  The management board is now the president Przemysław Kral, David Sendecki i Kamil Sikorski.

The company's shares, on the other hand, are deposited in a Swiss mutual fund, which took them over for… 1 euro. However, Sylwester Suszek is also to be in the same country for a long time, so some commentators are convinced that he - from the back seat - still controls the operations of the exchange, which has about 1,1 million registered users, and its turnover reaches 50 million USD a day.

Zonda's headquarters are still located in Tallinn, Estonia, and will remain so.

“The cryptocurrency industry stands at a crossroads. One path leads to more regulation and the other to pure decentralization. At Zonda, we plan to follow a less-trodden path, working closely with regulators around the world to create an open and supportive market that protects consumers from dishonest activity without compromising independence and innovation. " - inform the representatives of the company.
