Will global warming help wheat? [Webinar]

created Forex Club22 March 2024

Russia's aggression against Ukraine has pushed wheat prices to historic highs, but despite the fact that both countries - according to FAO, responsible for the production of almost 2022 million tons of wheat in 125 - have been at war for over two years, the price of this popular grain remains in a long-term trend inheritance. Will global warming help wheat? Questions about this market will be answered next Wednesday, March 27, by XTB analyst and holder of the prestigious CFA certificate, Michał Stajniak.

Will global warming help wheat?

Contrary to the demands made during farmers' protests, it is not grain from Ukraine or EU climate regulations that are to blame for low grain purchase prices in Poland, and more broadly, also in the world. Despite drastic increases caused by the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, approximately from the end of 2022 wheat prices remain in a clear descending channel. The market situation for the popular grain will certainly not be helped by the surplus this season, among others, Argentina or Australia. However, the key seems to be the fact of constant pouring wheat market by Russia, which had an excess of 60 million tons of grain last season. In mid-March this year. The European Commission has announced that it will develop rules to tackle the surge in imports of Russian agricultural produce into the EU. Will this be enough to stop the decline in the wheat chart?

The situation on the raw material market rarely changes under the influence of only one factor. The conditions in which the plants develop are also crucial for future harvests. And according to meteorologists, weather patterns associated with El Niño are slowly fading and should stop completely in late spring or early summer this year. Will global warming help wheat?
