KNF's guide: “Forex market. Threats and rights ""

The Polish Financial Supervision Authority published in February a special guide entitled Forex market. Threats and Rights ”. The book by J. Bąk and W. Petrzyk is addressed primarily to individual investors in the so-called amateur level. In the guide, you will find over 80 pages explaining primarily the risks associated with investing in CFD derivatives, as well as those based on cryptocurrencies.

CFD instruments are still fashionable

Interest in investments in derivatives, mainly contracts for exchange differences (CFD - Contracts for Differences) is growing all the time. Unfortunately, in many cases there are people who do not have adequate knowledge and preparation for speculating on CFDs and other leveraged instruments. The Commission itself also refers to this.

“The highly complicated nature of CFD derivatives combined with low awareness of potential investors, as well as unfair practices of some investment companies translates into a high percentage of losses for Polish clients. On 22.03.2017/80/2,1, the Supreme Audit Office published the results of the inspection in the field of protection of the rights of non-professional participants of the currency market, where it was found that approximately 2012% of Forex market participants incur losses. This translates into total losses of clients of domestic investment companies, which amounted to over PLN 2016 billion, in the period from the beginning of XNUMX to mid-XNUMX ”.

Forex market. Threats and Rights " is the effect of continuing the educational strategy of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, which aims to increase the awareness of Polish investors. Often, people hypnotized by the vision of easy and quick profits forget about the appropriate preparation, as well as about the element closely related to each investment - risk. This publication aims to pay particular attention to these aspects, present ways to avoid certain threats and protect your own interests.
