If you've been wondering why the nerd hunters stopped calling you recently, we have the answer. Twenty people heard accusations of participating in an organized criminal group that carried out extortion under the guise of the Forex market. The District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw informed about 350 injured investors for the total amount of over PLN 18 million.

The sucker hunters have become wild animals

On Wednesday, the Central Police Bureau of Investigation entered the action on the recommendation of the Warsaw prosecutor's office. Eight people were arrested and the rest was under police supervision. The total number of suspects is 36 persons, of which 18 is already in custody.

The prosecutor charged the employees of Amplio Investments who were employed at the positions of sellers, clients' supervisors and managers. Everyone was directly involved in the practice whose purpose was "interception" deposits of acquired clients. Group members acting as representatives of brands such as CFD1000, MIB 700 or Vortex Assetswhich have already been on the list of public warnings of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority some time ago.

Representatives, contacting potential clients, urged them to invest in the Forex / CFD market. They tempted them often "Guaranteed high profits" in a short time, primarily by investing in alleged debuts of well-known listed companies. The strategy was simple. Lure the investor, manipulate him into paying as much as he can (generating profits at the beginning), and then "help" him lose everything. The generated loss did not go to the market, but to the company's pocket.

By. findings of prosecutors, single client deposits fluctuated in the range from 2 thous. PLN to 1 million.

In addition to allegations of participation in an organized criminal group with an international character, four persons were charged with conducting brokerage activities without the required permits. The beginning of the case takes place in November 2016. It was the main suspect Avraham G. who used a false Guatemalan passport. Suspected, after purchasing two limited liability companies, he set up bank accounts for them in PLN, USD and EUR, where he accumulated captured deposits from fraudulent clients.

The described case is not unique. Already at the beginning of last year, the founder of another "hunting" group - Alpha Finex - was arrested. what we wrote in this article. However, in his case, the scale of frauds was much smaller and embraced "just" 100 people and over PLN 4 million.
