After this update, you will lose data on MetaTrade [Windows 10]

On October 2, a significant for MetaTrader platforms Win 10 update marked 1809. It has a significant impact on the configuration of user settings and encryption keys. Its installation may result in data loss on the platform!

MetaTrader and the WIN 10 update - watch out for passwords!

The MetaTrader platform is designed in such a way that it connects all data with the operating system of the computer on which it was installed. Thanks to this, users are provided with a high level of security, which ensures that in the situation when platform files are stolen, unauthorized persons will not be able to log in to the investment account using the saved password. It is for this reason, when you copy the entire folder with the platform to another computer, you must enter the password again after running it.

As it turns out, this solution also has its drawbacks. All account data in the form of access passwords after installing the latest MetaTrader update Win 10 will be deleted. Before you perform a system update, be sure to save your platform passwords in a safe place.

Purchased applications in MetaQuotes Market

We also don't have good news for those who shop in the "metatrader store". After changing the encryption, the applications that were purchased there will lose the activation token. It turns out that the products from the Market are also related to the user's operating system. To meet the problems of selected traders, MetaQuotes decided to provide an additional activation token for all applications purchased in MT Marketwhich will allow them to maintain the purchased products after the Windows 10 update. The token will be made available regardless of the system used by traders.

Activations of products in DEMO versions will also be lost, so traders will be forced to download such applications from MetaTrader Market again.
