US stocks started cheaper on Friday amid worries over the spread of the new virus in China. Investors fear that it may paralyze the economy not only of the Middle Kingdom, hence the sale of shares and a drop in their prices. On the other hand, it can be said that the next peak of trading, which took place at noon Polish time, is a great opportunity to take profits. And these have been substantial in recent months, because all US indices have been in a strong upward trend - in spite of many analysts who have announced weekly that the recession is at the doorstep and that big declines are coming soon.

The bull market on the US stock market coincided with the possibility of trading American shares via the platform. About plans that came into force in August 2019, we wrote in this article.

You can risk or protect capital

Investments in shares of American companies can of course bring above average profits, but the bull market does not last forever and in 2020 you can expect more difficult times. Revolut wants to be prepared for this.

“If 2020 was marked by rising prices and a slowdown in the market, we want to equip individual customers and companies with tools for cutting costs and better control of expenses. For people testing our investment platform, we prepare new products that may turn out to be useful in the event of a downturn. " - underlines Karol Sadaj, country manager at Revolut.

What products are these? First of all, the interest rate on funds stored in Revolut. Until now, you could keep them in the so-called safes. The problem is that the money did not bear interest. UK customers who have the Premium package can already invest in an interest rate of 1,35 percent. account. It is therefore a matter of time to launch a similar offer in Poland.
