Rewards from Tickmill Rewards? Be careful, it's a scam!

created Paweł MosionekJanuary 25 2024

Trade and get rewards? iPhone, PlayStation 5 and drones available for pickup from Tickmill Rewards. It sounds great? Be careful, it's a scam! A scam has appeared online, impersonating an international broker Tickmill and tries to tempt its victims with material rewards received for trading. Don't be fooled.

Tickmill Rewards is an illegal clone

Under the website www.tickmill-rewards.com there is an offer that, at first glance, may look like it belongs to the Tickmill broker. For a scam of this type, it's quite polished. The colors and layout of the website are close to those of a legally operating company.

This time, the fraudsters decided to lure potential customers by handing over valuable prizes such as iPhone 15, PlayStation 5, tablets, watches or drones. The condition for receiving the prize is to trade on the Forex/CFD market and collect points. Sounds abstract? Nothing similar. This is a promotion model that was quite common 6-7 years ago, before European ESMA regulations came into force, prohibiting this type of activities for Forex brokers.

The next pattern seems obvious. A potential victim opens an account, makes a deposit and... probably there "cooperation" comes to an end. Another option is to play for time in order to extract more funds from a potential victim, e.g. by suggesting that he or she make an additional deposit to win even more prizes. But we won't check it :-).
