The death of two people as a result of a rocket hitting the territory of Poland

For the time being, it is not publicly known whether the rocket that fell yesterday in the Hrubieszów district, killing two people, was deliberately aimed at Polish territory by Russia, the impact was the result of the lack of accuracy of the Russian rocket launched into Ukraine as part of yesterday's massive attack, or the cause of the tragedy was the fall of a Ukrainian missile fired at a Russian missile. We should wait for official information from the Polish government.

Slight gains in yesterday's session

Yesterday's session on the US stock market ended with slight gains in the value of major indices (S & P 500 +0,87 percent, DJIA +0,17 percent, Nasdaq Composite +1,45 percent). The Nasdaq closed at a 2-month high. This morning, futures on major US indices continued to increase slightly (S&P 500 +0,33% around 9:30).

In the stock markets of Asia and Oceania slight declines prevailed today (the Shanghai B-Share Index lost the most - 0,52 percent). The largest increase - by 1,01 percent. – noted the Philippine PSEi. India's SENSEX 30 Index was the highest in its history.

On Wednesday morning, there was no dominant trend on stock exchanges in Europe (DAX -0,21%, CAC 40 +0,09% approx. 9:30). The highest in its history was the Turkish XU100 this morning.

The WIG-20 index falls

The Polish WIG-20 index recorded the biggest drop in Europe this morning (-1 percent around 9:35). Among the components of this index, PGE's shares recorded the largest drop in price this morning (-2,03%). The largest increase - by 1,61 percent. – today CD Projekt's share price reached its highest level since April this year.

The 10-year U.S. Treasury bond yield fell below 4 percent yesterday. and this morning, despite a slight increase, the nada remained below it. The yield on 10-year Polish government bonds rose slightly, staying slightly above the level of 7 percent.

Changes in oil futures prices were small this morning (WTI -0,16%, Brent +0,09% around 9:20). Yesterday, for the second day in a row, they corrected the previous one upwards decrease in the price of natural gas contracts in European markets. Yesterday, the lowest since July 2021 was the price coffee contracts on ICE.

Bitcoin below $16

The euro exchange rate against the US dollar was rising today at approx. 9:15 am by 0,57 percent and was above the level of 1,04, but was below yesterday's highest level since the beginning of July. The USD strengthened slightly against the Japanese yen (+0,15%) this morning, but remained below the 140 JPY mark.

The US dollar exchange rate against the Polish zloty, which opened this morning at the highest level since November 10, fell later losing about an hour. 9:15 am 0,77 percent The EUR/PLN exchange rate fell by 0,28%.
